Kenya e Visa for Tourism

The Kenyan e-visa for tourism is a single-entry or multiple-entry visa for tourism, family visits, safaris tours, and any leisure activity that will not last more than 90 days. This e-visa is also valid for 90 days after it is issued, and it was introduced in 2015 to simplify the visa process for short-term visitors. The application is quick and easy, and visitors have an opportunity to extend it once if they wish to stay for much longer by an additional 90 days. However, citizens of some countries receive this visa for only one month.

There are two types of single entry e visas, namely the single entry visa, valid for three months, and the category 3 entry visa, valid for just one month from the issue date. If you are going to be a frequent visitor, you can opt for the multiple entry visa, and there are two types. The first is valid for 3-12 months of issue, while the other is valid for 5 years.

Kenya e Visa For Business

The business e-visa is for business professionals, entrepreneurs, Investors, professionals, and guests coming to Kenya for business activities. This e-visa is not the same as a work visa because while work visa holders are allowed to work, e-visa holders are denied such privileges. The e-visa for business is issued as a single or multiple-entry visa with different validity. You can use it to settle estates, Negotiate contracts, consult professionals, attend business events, seek out investment opportunities, etc.

To qualify for this visa, you must provide your itinerary, information about your host, and a cover letter explaining the purpose of your visit. The border agents may also demand a health certificate if you are coming from a high-risk region.

Kenya East Africa Visa

The East African e-visa is a special type of visa created under a joint arrangement by the governments of Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda. This e-visa is valid in all three countries, and holders can enter and exit each of them. This visa is strictly for tourism, and no nationality restrictions mean that any citizen can apply for it. Furthermore, the visa is issued as a multiple entry visa but can only be extended up to the 90-day visit allowed.

Additionally, holders are expected to enter the country that issued the visa before traveling to any other two countries.

Kenya e Visa For Transit

The Kenyan transit visa is for international travelers passing through Kenya to get to another country by air. This e-visa is only meant for visitors who intend to leave the airport and spend some time in the city before they return to continue their journey. This means that if you are an international traveler who will remain at the airport transit area and wait for your next flight, you will not need this visa.

Transit visas must be accompanied by an onward flight ticket to the next destination, and you must apply for it at least 72 hours before your arrival.

Effective March 17, 2020 Kenya halted the entry of foreigners from countries that have confirmed coronavirus cases for 30 days or until further notice. Only Kenyan citizens, and any foreigners with valid residence permits will be allowed to come in provided they proceed on self-quarantine or to a government designated quarantine facility.

All passengers traveling to Kenya MUST complete a Health declaration form within the 72 hours prior to the flight. Passengers will be required to display the corresponding QR codes to port health officials for them to be allowed to proceed to arrival immigration.
